This program is a coaching training focus on fitness and basic alpine knowledge to prepare for your first high altitude trek ie: Mount Kinabalu or Everest Basecamp. Trekking in alpine environment is a challenging exercise that require good physical fitness and basic knowledge to encounter the trek condition. Trekking normally take between 5 to 10 hours every day and it could be last 10 to 15 days. We need strength and good endurance capability to complete and enjoy the trek. It is also to prevent injury and fatigue.
Ascending to heights greater than 2,500 meter above sea level can trigger a range of symptoms of altitude illness including headache and nausea due to low level of oxygen. In worst condition it could be fatal. Each trekker must have knowledge to prevent acute mountain sickness and how to manage it. Trekkers also expose to harsh weather condition that led to cold injuries. Therefore, we need to prepare ourselves with appropriate clothing and equipment besides the good fitness. Safety is everyone first priority. Thus, each climber must equip themselves with skills and knowledge to ensure they are climbing on best safety standard practice.
